We are pleased to present the 2oz version of the latest coin in the “Stanislaw Lem – Master of Science Fiction” series.

Stanisław Lem was a Polish writer of the hard science-fiction genre, philosopher and futurologist. He was born on 12 September 1921 in Lviv and died on 27 March 2006 in Krakow. His works dealt with such topics as the development of science and technology, human nature, the possibility of communication between intelligent beings and the place of man in the Universe.

The reverse depicts Ijon Tichy stepping out of his spacecraft and setting foot on an unknown planet. In the background rises a mysterious futuristic structure surrounded by elements of an alien civilization, evoking the atmosphere of the extraordinary interstellar expeditions described in Lem’s work. The design captures the spirit of exploration, boundless curiosity, and the courage to venture beyond the limits of human knowledge.
