The coin originally commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, not focusing on the happening itself, but on the people that took part in this event. After 50 years, only two members of the mission remained alive.
Their whole life, their success, failures, joys and worries is only a flash in the history of the mankind. They only have memories, but without their lives and work our civilization would not be as it is.
