The “Big Five Africa – Half-Spherical Coin” sets new standards in design with its elaborate 3D domed relief. The curved hemisphere of the coin struck from 999 fine silver rises above the base in striking relief and is interspersed with delicate cut-outs, inlaid with transparent enamel.
This creates an open structure that not only reflects light, but also channels it through the interior of the coin. Light entering the coin passes through the dome, causing the enamel to glow from within. On the surface, lion, elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo and leopard emerge in sculptural detail, defining the opulent overall composition.
